Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

CongressBuys runs congressbuys.com and sends email alerts about stock trades disclosed by members of the U.S. Congress. This policy explains what personal information we collect about our subscribers and visitors, and how we use it. It works together with our Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. Your email address when you subscribe, and anything you send us when you contact support. If you buy a paid plan, Stripe collects your payment details; we receive only limited billing information from Stripe (such as your name, email, billing country, card brand, the last four digits of your card and your subscription status), never your full card number.

Information created when you use the service. When you subscribed, confirmed and unsubscribed; which alerts we sent you; and delivery events reported by our email provider, such as whether an email was delivered, bounced or marked as spam.

Technical information. Our hosting provider processes standard request data, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

The trade data we publish is about members of Congress and comes from public government reports, not from you.

3. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising across other websites or apps.

4. Service providers

We use these companies to run the service. Each processes data on our behalf under its own privacy terms:

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or users' safety.

5. Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies for security and performance. Our emails do not contain open or click tracking. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy first.

6. How long we keep information

We keep your email address and subscription records while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, or your address bounces or reports our emails as spam, we keep your address and the reason on a suppression list so we never email you again. We keep billing records as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).

7. Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by writing to support@congressbuys.com. If you ask for deletion, we may keep a minimal record that you opted out, so we don't email you again. Residents of some places, including California, the European Union and the United Kingdom, have additional rights under local law; we honor those requests too. We reply within 30 days and will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.

8. Security

The site uses HTTPS, our keys and credentials are stored encrypted, and access to subscriber data is limited. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

CongressBuys is meant for adults (18 and over). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Where information is processed

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new date, and email subscribers about material changes.
