How purchases qualify and what we cover
Congress: verified stock purchases with a reported range starting at $100,000 or more, or purchases disclosed by at least two identified congressional households in the selected window. Amounts are ranges, and reported owners may be spouses or dependents.
Insiders: reported direct common-stock purchases by a single named officer or director, totaling at least $100,000 from reported shares and prices, or multiple officers or directors reporting qualifying purchases in the window. Grants, option exercises, flagged trading plans, employee plans, indirect holdings, joint filers and ambiguous instruments are excluded. Code P also covers private purchases; these selections do not establish motive or predict returns.
Insider collection includes a 25-company pilot, followed companies with SEC identifiers, and companies recently traded by Congress. It is not market-wide coverage. Counts describe the records we have collected.
Pilot: AAPL, MSFT, AMZN, GOOGL, META, NVDA, TSLA, JPM, BAC, C, WFC, GS, DIS, NKE, SBUX, TGT, WMT, PFE, CVS, UNH, INTC, F, GM, SOFI, PLTR.
The shortlist selects up to five different companies, ordered by the number of qualifying reasons, disclosure recency, and reported amount. It is a research starting point.
